It is a temple located at 86, Yonggung-gil (Shirang-ri), Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, and is the horse temple of Hwahumsa, the headquarters of the 19th diocese of the Jogye sect of Korean Buddhism.
Unlike the usual temples in the mountains, this one faces the open East Sea and is a popular tourist destination.
On weekends and vacations, the temple receives a lot of visitors from out of town, including foreigners, and the Haeundae route of the City Tour Bus stops here. This is the most famous temple in Busan due to its long history, the massive Samgwangsa Temple, and beautiful scenery.
